It ended with my son reading Cordoroy to me at bedtime. It is so cute, the emphasis he puts on certsin words, the way he enunciates the consonant sounds, I can just imagine how his first grade teacher must have modeled that, and here hi is still imitating. It's cute, perhaps still a little first grade-ish, but I'm hapy that he paid attention to her. He is ready to start second grade.

The other kid turned off his computer at bedtime without a fuss. And finally. he actually wanted to do something other than play games with it. This was his chosen project, not one I prodded him into. He is writing some wild anime type story to show his friends at summer school. Yes! My boy is off to high school and has made a friend who enjoys stories!  Please God, just let him stay this way. Don't let him get bullied, don't let him fall in with a bad crowd, or withdraw from it all. At last he seems happy with himself, and life in general. Please let this last.

As for me, took the younger son to taekwondo. I tried too. God it hurt. Last time I made it through easily. Today the instructor had us doing a side kick. I swear it hurt my hips so bad it reminded me of being in labor. I'd say I'm too damn old, but the instructor has at least ten years on me. So I guess I won't wimp out on it.

Oh, I had an interview. I am overqualified for the job, and it pays less than what I need. But the interviewer told me about a new opening for a teacher. I ran home and wrote one of my infamous emails to the principal. We'll see what comes of this.
