I train "aggressive" breeds and I am more comfortable with a pit bull and chow than I am with a toy dog. I am naturally just a tough woman and my dogs recognize that and treat me like top dog. Most of you who have seen my pictures totally cannot see that lol. I know I am five foot one and not that tough looking. But training these dogs has really helped my self esteem grow.

My fifth year anniversary is this September 4th and my husband adopted a chihuahua for me. I mean I love Chihuahua's and have always wanted one to go with my bigger dogs. But I just don't know how to train them. You can't be rough with them, you can't yell at them, you can't do the dominance hold on them, and you can't glare at them or they shake themselves into a pee puddle.

I am finding myself with a challenge. Is that going to keep me from being a good dog owner? Oh heck no. If I can fully charge a pissed off pit bull and sit on him until he gives in to my dominance I can do this. So now I am on google reading up on everything I can possibly do to train this dog.

He is 6 months old and his last owner did potty train him... but he isn't socialized, he barks at me all the time (not my husband but my husband jokes around that the dog is racist because it only barks at white people... jerk!), and he needs his shots.

So far he is now best friends with the cats and is slowly getting use to the dogs. My dogs are making me so proud by the way. When the Chihuahua started attacking THEM (I know some of you are shocked but it happens all the time with little dogs) they just sat there and looked at him like he was coco loco.

I just need to get his shots so I can get him to the local dog park and introduce him to other dogs. Does anyone have anymore advice?
