So, last weekend we discovered that our son(who is 3) absolutely LOVES bowling!

So today, we went down to the local AMF lanes. The Manager, yes I said manager, set us up with shoes and put us on two lanes. My hubby and I on one lane and our son on the other lane with the gutter bumpers up.

So we are bowling and having a wonderful time. I notice that everyone that comes in after is us is getting rung up before starting to bowl. "That's odd." I thought wondering why we hadn't had to pay yet.

We finished bowling, went up to turn in our shoes and pay. The manager rings us up. 84.41! Yes, 84 dollars and 41 cents for 1 hour and 45 minutes of bowling! I was appalled, I couldn't believe it cost that much.

We got charged 5 dollars per game, per person. He charged us FULL price for our 3 yr old. Then after I say that I am shocked that a 3 yr old pays full price, he hands me 3 coupons. 2 free children's games and another coupon for 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, a pitcher of pop and a pizza for 39.99.

I think, cool, he is gonna help us out.

He informs me that we cannot apply the coupons on this trip!

So I am a little irritated and come to find out, after talking to some friends that frequent this bowling alley, YOU ARE ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO BE RUNG UP BEFORE YOU BOWL!

I feel like this manager took advantage of us.

So watch your pocket books at AMF LANES!

I would be livid as well!!! Holy cow. I can't imagine the amount of money they would have gotten off of my family!!!

After working in retail, and customer service jobs and getting the but end of the deal. I learned that the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT !  I am NOW A CUSTOMER and a firm believer.

Write to the companies General manager or headquarters for you city. Make them aware that you or your husband were not informed until you were checking out. THEY OWE YOU ! If that doesn't work  contact the Better Business Bureau. They thought that your $84.41 was worth their time; don't you think  that you deserve it back ?

we went bowling the other day too. they didnt have shoes small enough for DD, so she just wore her own shoes. But they charges us after we played. They wanted to make sure that we played as many games as we want, without having to prepay. Of course, we only spent like 8 bucks. I think i would have crapped if they told me 80! but, why did they put ur son in his own lane? that doesnt make sense to me..

That's crazy!!!! I would definitely email AMF and ask why you weren't allowed to use the coupon. I'm sorry! :(
