I cannot believe that commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Michael Vick back into the NFL. Please tell me that this is a joke.
To everyone who doesn’t know about Michael Vick, he’s the douche bag that killed thirteen dogs by various methods, including electrocution, hanging, drowning, shooting and body slamming them. Not to mention, hurting and murdering family pets by putting them in the ring with trained fighting dogs and then laughing about it. This man was given the world. He was living the American Dream. He had money, fame, women, mansions but none of it was good enough, so he decided to run a business or so called “hobby” on the side. I mean, how sick and demented would you have to be to take part in dog-fighting?
I’m also sick and tired of people defending him and saying that he “made a mistake”. A mistake, in my opinion, is something people do and learn from in a short period of time. This man killed and hurt dogs for a five year period and he only apologized and “felt bad” because he got caught. You’d think someone would realize that they were making a bad call when they were drowning a powerful and strong dog, such as a pitbull, I mean- can you imagine? Especially when the dog is taught to fight. I can’t even fathom what great length this man went through to torture these poor, helpless animals.
Does a man/murderer like this- deserve another chance? The last time I checked, athletes were supposed to be role models for men, women and children. Do we really want such a cold, heartless, predator sociopath as an example? Most people that torture animals turn out to be wife beaters, child abusers, serial killers- and the list can go on and on. It really infuriates me to hear his supporters basically saying that they don’t care about his actions against animals and that they only want to see him playing football again. They state that he already paid his debt by serving his sentence and apologizing, but that isn’t enough. He should be banned from playing pro football. It was very easy for him to disregard life and now he needs to pay the consequences.
In other words, would we give a child predator a second chance to work among our children? I don't think so. Michael Vick knew was he was doing and therefore should be punished. From my point of view Michael Vick shouldn't be labeled as a dog fighter. He should be labeled as a dog killer- because that's what he did, he killed dogs. So does he deserve another chance? Hell no!

Well, I love you back- just for agreeing with me.
Vick deserves to be tortured.. maybe then he'd really be a role model. An example to other morons doing the same thing he did. Ugh! Losers!
This post needs to be number one and I'm gonna sit here and pout until it is. Come on ladies!
I agree 100% with you and was actually saying the same sentiment to my NFL-addicted hubby the other day. Teams seem to be pretty reluctant to consider the man, given the amount of problems he could bring with him but that is beside the point.
The NFL participates in numerous community-related projects every year as a method of giving back to the fans and cities that support them. I get the chills just imagining that man sitting down for storytime at a public library or offering pointers to kids at the local YMCA football camp. He is a dangerous pig. Nuff said.
I agree. NO JOB is guaranteed. Period. Playing in the NFL is a privlege, not a birthright. I feel if you've been convicted of a violent crime then you should not be allowed to play again. He can earn a living doing speaking engagements or coaching.
If Joe Schmo down at the office had been charged with the same thing and his boss found out, do you think he'd be keeping his job? Especially if his employment hinged on the boss signing him to a contract? I'm guessing not.
Right, I agree with both of you ladies (deadheadjen and rebabeach2). If John Doe were to have done the same thing, you're so right- he would've been fired!! I don't care if he goes to rehabilitation- he was MADE to stop and MADE to "feel bad". He wouldn't have stopped if they wouldn't have caught him. I also hate how he brought up god when he was giving his oscar worthy "apology" speech. The man is a joke!!
I agree with you 100%! When I think of what those poor dogs went through from pain to death, it literally makes me sick! Clearly such violent acts of cruelty are extremely disturbing.
Amen! Another sick example of our nations obsession with Celebrities who can "do no wrong" and letting them into our lives.
Right. There are so many talented athletes who actually DESERVE a chance at pro football. And yet, the NFL commissioner is wasting his time on a total dick- who had it all and messed it up. What the hell is wrong with people?
I hate that guy. I just can't believe he got back in. Though I was listening to the radio the other day and the talk radio foot ball guy does not believe he will be signed to a team because all the teams are afraid of the bad press surrounding the guy. All I could say was "I hope so!"

I think I love you.
A-MEN is all I can say. Scumbags like Vick don't deserve to be loose in public let alone be allowed to go back to their careers as glorified football players. Makes me wanna PUKE!
