So I have always had impressive eyebrows. Woolly eyebrows, perhaps you could call them. I did my best to tame them with tweezers, painstakingly plucking each little devil hair. When I was younger, I was really diligent about this and I was looking good, but as I got older and began my babymaking career my attitude became more along the lines of, "Screw it."
Since leaving my husband in April, I have undergone several small but important changes. First, I have lost fifteen pounds and I'm well on my way towards bringing my weight down to a happy, healthy range.
Secondly, I cut my hair. This may seem like a small thing to count as a significant change, but anyone who has been in a controlling relationship knows that things like hair cuts are major steps towards reclaiming your independence. That first haircut was a few months ago, and today I had another one because my hair was bushin' out pretty terrifically.
I also did something else today that was a biggie for me. Something I've actually never done before. I had my upper lip and eyebrows waxed.
Two words: Ouch. Wow!
The Before Picture.

The Now Picture:

Did waxing hurt? Well, sure, duh. It stung a little. But it didn't hurt as much as a tattoo does, or childbirth, or stubbing your dang toe. I hate stubbing my toe! Stupid toes!
So, dere you has it.
Comments:
You look fantastic: younger and healthier. Dare I say like you care and are taking care of yourself like we all should. (Making mental note.) Good for you. Keep up the hard work. You're worth it. ;)
