Already looking for a new place!!!!

Well we just moved into this apartment on May 29, 09 and we're already starting to look for another place to live! There was a shooting in our complex, and not just that but the 3 guys shot this man from MY HALLWAY an attempted robby turned attempted murder... It was all over the news, and the guy tried to plow 2 cops over as well. The complex here tells us they can't guarntee our safety and they won't let us even changed complexes at another location. It wouldn't bug me so much if it wasn' t the fact that I've been told that is the 3 or 4th shooting her in the past 2 years and there have been a lot of robberies... Grrr.... it's annoying cause this place has ample space....

have you tried going to the authorities about living in a place like that.

and hopefully you find a better place to live because that's not a safe apartment complex at all the way you describe it

I spoke with a cop and was told it's a civil matter and I have to take it up with either a judge or the landlord... Even if I do win through a judge there will be some kind of eviction on my name which I don't want... However if I break my lease and give them 2 months rent I'm good to go...

well just last month we had a problem in our complex. i was a secret witness and the landlord wasnt suppossed to use my name but did said person i reported walked in my house and started yelling, hubby went down to landlord and said U NEED to MOVE US ASAP because u put my kids in danger. if ur landlord knew what the complex was like and the dangers there they have a reason to move u guys out of the complex. exspecially if ur kids are in danger.
