OK, I'm a Bohunk from Nebraska, so I grew up dancing the Waltz (and the Polka) in Beer Garden and church basements all across the Bohemian Alps. And now I have my own radio show where I play Polkas and Waltzes (see siggy) so I'm quite familiar with the traditional Waltz. So it irks me to no end when dance shows like SoYouThinkYouCanDance and DancingWithTheStars have people Waltzing...to non-waltz songs!
I MEAN, WOULD IT KILL THE CHORIAGRAPHER TO CHORIOGRAPH A WALTZ TO AN ACTUAL WALTZ?!??!!?!!
What's wrong with good ol'songs like the Tennessee Waltz, the Blue Skirt Waltz, Czech-land Waltz, Waltz Across Texas, The Waltz You Saved For Me...
ugh
(It also annoys me when they do the Latin dances to non-Latin songs.)
but...whatever...
