When are you too old to be surprised? *let's talk period*

My co-worker, who is in her fifties just came up to me, and asked if I needed anything from Wal-Greens.  She said, "I just had a surprise period emergency, and I will be right back".  I thought to myself, "Dang, when do the surprises stop".  lol  I am sure that when we get to that age it does not come regularly, right?

I been going through the same thing since I was twelve, and now at thirty years old it still shocks the hell out of me.  My husband would always tell me that I am old enough to know better by now.  I am pretty regular too, before my last baby (my fifth son, and he is one) it came on the thirtieth of every month.  Now it comes on the twentieth of every month, and I have a boo boo every-time.

What do you think?  At what age should the surprises stop?

*OFF TOPIC*

I have some good news........

I just weighed myself on the scale at our campus clinic, and I lost twelve pounds in six weeks without even trying!!!  YEAHHHHHHH  I will be able to wear the dress in my avatar picture pretty soon........lol

Our moon's are important, a time of renewal and to draw within.  I find I am my most creative when I listen, with sensitivity, giving to myself and honoring my body with the rest it needs.  Cycles can vary, my step daughter is 37 days.  I am 25-28ish  it varies.  Becoming in tune with your earthily body takes practice and lots of listening.  Often women will feel a surge of energy right before they have their moon, it's the time when we clean, prepare large amounts of food, or run bigger errands etc.  It's our bodies natural way of preparing for rest.  Pay close attention you may find this to be true for you.  I have read of times where when women in villages had their cycle, there was a special place for them to go, to be tended to lovingly while they had their cycle.

Honoring Menstruation (click "look inside" and read some of the book)

Women's Bodies Women's Wisdom by Christine Northrup

Both two books I recommend as gem's in any woman's life.  The first one especially wish would have been read to me by my mother or given to me by her when I was much younger.  There were some things that didn't resonate with me, others that really did about that book.  Both are very good reference to keep around.  I no longer have shame about my cycle, I'm empowered by it.

As for the off topic: wow!
