Please tell me why anyone has the right to say that someone who believes in God or is a religous person does not think. Also, I have seen it expressed that if you are a Christian you follow the masses, are ignorant and use religon as a crutch.
To group a large amount of people as one, or assume that a group of people are mindless, idiots who do not think or are judgemental well that seems about as hateful and ignorant as anything I have ever seen,
For all of your information the fact that I believe in God does not make me an idiot- or make me a closed minded person or someone in desperate need of anything. The fact that I have never doubted my religon or my faith does not make me a weak person that chooses to follow the masses or takes the easy route in life- gliding along never questioning anything- it simply makes me person that is convicted in my beliefs. That does not make me stupid, ignorant or closed minded, it makes me who I am. And who I am is someone that is confident enough in my beliefs that I don't feel the need to bash someone elses , because in my opinion if you feel that something is right and you are comfortable with it you shouldn't have the overwhelming desire to argue about it or make yourself feel better by being hateful to someone who does not.
Comments:
Especially the part about "if you feel that something is right and you are comfortable with it you shouldn't have the overwhelming desire to argue about it or make yourself feel better by being hateful to someone who does not." So so true, and I think that's what it really comes down to.
It takes great courage to stand proud in the face of opposition. Following Christ is not popular. It calls on people to acount for themselves. To admit that they sin. And obviously, this 'sin' issue make people uncomfortable. It's just how it is. Our numbers are dwindling. But you and I both know that we are anything but weak, ignorant and misled.
I can only hope that religious believers will not judge all "non-believers" as militant and downright ugly. It really does go both ways-- 'tis true that it "takes great courage to stand proud in the face of opposition," no matter which side you're on.
It sure does- and as you and I know I find it equally as offensive for someone to shove a Bible down someones throat and claim that they are living their life in a horrible way if they do not follow a ceartin path - the thing I have a problem with is the hateful attacks and the assumption that because I am a Christian I am an idiot that can't think for myself and I follow a group because I don't have a brain or a back bone... I think it's dispicable to tell someone they are any less of a person for what they believe or don't believe
I ADMIRE PEOPLE WITH CONVICTIONS AND FAITH AND PEOPLE WHO STAND UP FOR WHAT THEY BELEIVE, WITHOUT TEARING DOWN ANYONE ELSE IN THE PROCESS, THAT MAKES YOU IN MY BOOK AND ADMIRABLE PERSON!
