Okay, my 3rd baby is 1 week and 4 days old. My 1st son I tried to BF and it was okay until the 2nd week, he would suck forever and cry all night. He was latched fine and I thought he either just wanted to suck (I tried pacifiers which he hated) or he wasn't getting much milk. Either way, I tried pumping, which did not go too well. I got very little milk and then a week later it wasn't even worth it so I switched him to formula and we were all very happy!
Then my second little guy was latched fine but would not take the breast. I didn't even bother with pumping and went right to formula.
Now my 3rd little guy, I gave formula to right away. My oldest is 3 years, then I have my 14 month old and now him. I figured I would be too tired and busy to BF or even pump, so I gave him a bottle and it made everything easy. I had not been leaking up until today. Now both breasts are leaking quite a bit. For the heck of it I thought I would try to BF him ... didn't go too well of course. He took both sides for a minute, was getting and swallowing the milk, but pushed away and would not go back on either breast. Now, I started him on the regular Good Start formula, but ended up switching him to the soy because all he did was not even spit up, but threw up the formula. With soy he holds it down fine (as long as he doesn't drink too much at a time!)
My question is: is it possible to pump at this point and get the baby to drink the breast milk from a bottle now? Again, he is 1 week and 4 days old.
