of hotel housekeeping staff. We are human, not some low form of sh*t. I can't tell you how many people have been rude to me over the years. Despite what some may think, we don't take pleasure in picking up a bloody tampon on the floor. Nor do we like the many loogy splattered shower walls. I don't praise the times that I'm yelled at through doors in colorful language. We can't read minds to know when you are out of the room. If you don't like being awakened at 10am, then use that nifty little sign that says "Do not disturb". Please be also respectful of the condition of the room. Throw away your used condoms and other trash in that neato little square thing called a trash can. It also wouldn't hurt to leave a tip sometimes for the service that was provided in cleaning your room.

Amen. I cleaned hotel rooms for a year and that was enough for me. People are SOOOO gross sometimes.
Yes, a tip is key! I can't believe how many people don't tip the house keeping staff. Housekeepers do the job that no one wants to! I think it is a thankless job, so I always make sure to tip as a way to thank these hard working people! As a courtesy I like to neaten up as much as I can before I leave. I always thing I don't want anyone coming in after me thinking "Ewww, what a pig!"
THANK YOU for all you do to make the rooms nice for us people who like clean rooms!
Honestly, I didn't know about tipping. I never really thought about it, but I don't really travel much. Do you just leave it out on the table? What if someone just left their money on the table and it wasn't meant for the cleaning crew? Just wondering.
You can leave a note that says tip. We don't take money that is just sitting there. People rarely leave their money sitting there anyway. But if it's on your pillow, that usually means tip also.
Awww Jer, I'm sorry some people are such pigs.
I never knew about the tipping thing either, but I will darn sure remember it now!! And I always "pick up" the room and even straighten up the bed sheets before we leave for the day.
I never worked in that type of business but I do leave tips. I do know that your job is not the easiest one and I do pick up behind myself and my kids in the rooms that we have had. I don't want some one to come in and say what is wrong with these nasty people. Or do they do this to their own house. I am respectful of house keeping.
I've never cleaned a hotel room, but I have worked in enough movie theaters and restaurants to know how much cleaning up after strangers SUCKS. People are NASTY when they are away from home. Seriously.
I figure... the job is hard enough without me being a slobby, nasty, disgusting pig in the process. If I can make the job easier, I try to make it easier.
I leave the room neat like I found it for the most part. Dirty linens together, trash thrown away, stuff like that.
I think the only time I've ever gotten irritated at hotel staff was once when I did put out the DND sign and they still knocked and woke me up. But then, how were they to know I'd been driving for 20 hours straight and didn't fall asleep till 5 am? I just asked if they could come back later and went back to sleep. No need to be a B*^&^ about it, you know? The karma for that stuff comes back to bite you in the ass.
Noted and voted, Evil Twin Jerri! (I voted earlier, but wanted to leave you a comment.)
IDK why people are so nasty away from home. It always makes ME wonder what their HOUSES look like. If you're comfrotable leaving a mess in PUBLIC, heaven only KNOWS how you are in private, JMPO

I hear ya. I did this job for 2 years. I had someone once take a dump in the trash that was right next to the toilet. Oh I just thought of another one put the DND sign up when you are having sex!
