I am a little annoyed by all the shows that have been on about mother's and their teenage daughters and their life long struggle with anorexia.  Especially, when mother's ask the old bullshit of a duh! where the hell have you been all your life, question; "I don't know where my daughter gets the idea of wanting to be so skinny?".  Ugh.  Are you freaking kidding me?  Look around you lady!  It's all over!  It's on magazine covers, on t.v., on billboards- it's everywhere!  Our fascination with skinny people is out of control.

I get it, being fit is what we all aim for.  But most girls these days don't want to be fit.  They want to be scary.  And by scary, I mean, the best compliment that can be given is "Like, Oh my gosh  Jane.. I can totally see your pelvis and your rib cage.  Now that's hot!".  Okay, they might not all sound like bimbo barbie's, but you get the hint.  And then- we have shows that talk about the dangers of anorexia, bulimia, and the whole emotional process that goes along with it.  Oh, then we hear a sob story about some girl who wanted to become a model so badly that she only smoked cigarettes and drank diet cokes.  So, what's the big deal when she dies?  Everyone's doing it- or so it seems.  Our own society is shoving the idea of nasty skinny down our throats, and then they want us to talk about why it's bad.  How hypocritical.

Not to sound like an insensitive bitch, but who the hell cares?  If you want to be stupid and die trying to be nasty skeletor skinny- then so be it.  I'm sick and tired of hearing and watching lame ass sob stories about a person who, obviously, doesn't value life enough.  There are so many people out there who are dying with real diseases, for example- cancer,  that we should feel sorry for- and all we can find for good t.v. are sad stories about healthy people that put their everything on the line and basically kill themselves to be thin?  What is this world coming to?  It's effing idiotic.

I have a friend who actually looks like this.  She has cancer, but that's nothing.  Let's feel sorry for this chick who WANTS to be this skinny.

These are the models that get praised for their bodies.  What we're expected to want to look like.  EW!  No, thank you!

Not everyone who is an anorexic or bullimic wants to be a model or gets the idea from tv or magazines. And just like some girls don't like to be called nasty for being obese, neither do girls that are smaller like to be called nasty for being thin. Anorexia and bullimia are eating disorders and can be caused by lots of different reasons besides dopey models on tv.

My journal is about the chicks who WANT to be nasty skinny.  I understand that some girls are naturally thin.  But there's a difference between naturally healthy/fit/thin and sickly cry me a river thin. =)

Those models that you posted are not getting praised for their bodies. They are sick people. I'm just saying that bullimia and anorexia are real diseases and some girls need treatment for it.

I get what you're saying.  Anorexia and bulimia are diseases that can be completely prevented.  If you want to lose weight, get down to a size that is healthy for you and be done with it.  None of this, "oh, let me just lose another 5 lbs, then I'll look perfect!"  Five pounds later, "oh, I just need to lose another 5 lbs, then I'll look like my favorite actress."  Come on!  I saw a girl in the gym once, BONE thin and she looked so tired, yet she was forcing herself to work out more.  Now, I know that girl was not naturally that thin, she WORKED to get that thin.  I kept thinking, "girl, stop it."  Now I'm sorry if I'm starting to sound insensitive, but I think these diseases are totally preventable, much like alcoholism.
