Shalom!

but [Yahuah]'s unfailing love surrounds the [human] who trusts in Him.
Psalm 32:10b NIV

the second mitzvah by Yahuah is the natural result
of our acceptance of Yahuah's first mitzvah

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit,
who lives in you
and was given to you by God?

 ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19 NLT

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives,
He produces ... in us:
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Here there is no conflict with the law.

~ Galatians 5:22-23 NLT

idolatry:
1) when I've been deceived
and/or tried to continue to act stupid
had unreasonable expectations
of other people
and other things
or other situations.

Believing that they were responsible for my joy, etc.
or believing I'm a victim because that idol isn't fulfilling
my unreasonalbe expectations for feeling joyfilled, etc.

2) Or the pride and arrogance,
or ignorant deception
of trying to be God for someone else
by trying to be responsible for their joy, etc...
it is such a relief to know that I'm NOT God.
and that it is God's responsibility.

And I will give you a new heart,
and I will put a new spirit in you.
I will take out your stony, stubborn heart
and give you a tender, responsive heart.
And I will put My Spirit in you
so that you will follow My decrees
and be careful to obey My regulations
 ~ Ezekiel 36:26-27

As we know [Yeshua] better,
His divine power,
gives us everything we need
for living a godly life.
He has called us to receive
His own glory and goodness!
And by that same mighty power,
He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises.
He has promised that you will escape
the decadence all around you
caused by evil desires
and that you will share in His divine nature.

~ 2 Peter 1:3-4 NLT

God blesses those who realize their need for Him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.
 ~ Matthew 5:3 NLT

so once we accept the first mitzvah that Yahuah has liberated us
from deception (foolishness)
and from the power of sin and death...
then Yahuah has prophesied that we will find ourselves
making choices so that we live free from
idolatry and witchcraft:
we and our children, etc experience Yahuah's second mitzvah FOR us.

But you are a chosen people,
a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, a people belonging to God,
that you may declare the praises of Him
who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

 ~ 1 Peter 2:9 NIV

so hear the Second Mitzvah  as a prophecy of blessings:

You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.
You shall not make yourself any graven image
[to worship it]
or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above,
or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth;
You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them;
for I [Yahuah] your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children
to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but
 ~ Exodus 20:3-5 AMP
displaying grace to the thousandth generation of those who love Me and obey My mitzvot.
 ~ Exodus 20:6 CJB

WHOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOO!!
Good News, In deed!

because we now know to trust Yahuah's wisdom and faithfulness and lovingkindness...
and since we belong to Yahuah, He will NOT tolerate our continued enslavement to deception
and will come FOR us.

And the results of our ignorant and stupid choices WILL have consequences
that will also affect our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren,
and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God,
to make a decisive dedication of your bodies
[presenting all your members and faculties]
as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated)
and well pleasing to God,
which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service
and spiritual worship.
Do not be conformed to this world (this age),
[fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs],
but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind
[by its new ideals and its new attitude],
so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable
and perfect will of God,
even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect
[in His sight for you].
 ~ Romans 12:1-2 AMP

we also are now going to reject our previous attempts at witchcraft
these have now become hideous and repulsive:
1) attempts to circumvent God's Law of nature,
by expecting to find joy etc
by chosing NOT to follow God's orderly, natural, actual plan for life
2) and / or to manipulate, dominate, intimidate others,
violating God-given right of free will.
3) allowing ourselves to be dominated, intimidated, manipulated

no longer do we allow these idols to be lord over our lives:
they no longer master us.
this is our free will choice: who or what will be lord over our life?
over our relationships? circumstances? situations?

mitzvot (plural of mitzvah מצוה )
commonly understood to be a good act (deed), virtue, word דיבר
usually translated into English language Bibles as "commandment", "precept"
the Hebrew concept is that there is natural law, a natural order.
And there are natural results of choices.
Yahuah has revealed the wisdeom and truth in His Word, our Bible.

Our free will choices. Informed choices. Empowered decisions.
Why don't I want to run a red traffic light or a stop sign?
NOT because I don't want to get a ticket or pay a fine (that's not the most important motivation)
it's the wisdom of wanting to avoid an accident, injury, damages, death.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death,
between blessings and curses.
Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make.
Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
You can make this choice by loving [Yahuah] your God,
obeying Him, and committing yourself firmly to Him.
This is the key to your life.
And if you love and obey [Yahuah}, you will live long
in the land [Yahuah] swore
to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NLT
