So with so much checked off my "to do" list, I've been spending a lot of time during Asher's nap times just talking to the baby, feeling my belly, listening to the heartbeat with the fetoscope...
It's so much fun being fairly certain of baby's position this time and being able to feel where all the body parts are...it was much harder with Asher, especially once he flipped breech, because his butt was so low in my pelvis it was hard to feel, and his head was under my rib cage...literally UNDER it so i couldnt really feel it either (except from the horrible feeling internally of having a head stuck under my rib)......
This time baby is definitely ROT and has been that way for weeks and weeks, despite all the movement.....
(ROT= Right Occiput Transverse, meaning the baby is head down, with its back along my right side, and its feet kicking my left side of my belly)
According to SpinningBabies.com, though my baby is not currently posterior, ROT often turns into a posterior baby once labor starts (though I'm not sure why, since LOT it says is an ideal position to start in labor... both are facing my sides, just one is facing my left, and one is facing my right).....So, I'm going to start doing some rocking on all fours and be much more conscious of my posture when sitting, making sure my belly is always hanging forward, not reclining...so I can try and get baby into an ROA (right occiput anterior) position if at all possible....
Nothing I"m getting too worked up over, but if I can prevent some nasty back labor before it ever starts, all the better right? Anyway, it's so much fun to feel the baby's body parts and such and feel him/her kick back at me as I feel around...I'm not good at telling head from butt, but I know baby is head down because i always hear the heartbeat REALLY low in the same spot on my right side, down near the right side of my pubic bone in my groin area...
Anyway, just sharing some of my excitement...
