I'm inspired by the biblical Ruth.

I have so many that I know that have defied odds and inspire me as well in my personal life, but I really get moved by Ruth in the bible...This young lady, looses her husband without bearing any children, abandons her families god, then goes on to dare to believe in the God of Isreal and stay to her mother-in-laws side, even after becoming widowed and having no obligation. She walks away from her family, and their life of wealth to stay true to her MIL and the God she worships.  Heading for Bethlehem, with nothing at all but faith, she finds favor with the wealthiest crop owner in town, and God honors her and blesses her with more than she ever had prior..

 This story so moves me!

Apr. 28, 2007 at 12:12 AM Me too!  God has used the book of Ruth to speak to me so often in my life, especially during times of intense trial and hardship.  It's always brought me such comfort.  BEAUTIFUL story.  Have you read the fictionalized story of Ruth (based on the real story of course) by Francine Rivers?  It's wonderful.

May. 4, 2007 at 12:05 AM Wow..Funny you would ask..It was the Francine Rivers version that inspired me with Ruth..Of course I knew her story, but there was such detail.I have read the entire lineage series by her except Mary, which I will get soon..Small world huh?

Ruth has always been an inspiration to me as well...you put it all into words perfectly. Love it. :)
