Shalom!
Therefore My people will know My Name;
therefore on that day they will know that
I, the one speaking - here I am!"
~ Isaiah 52:6 CJB
Yesha'yahu [Yahuah is salvation] ישעה
therefore on that day they will know that
I, the one speaking - here I am!"
~ Isaiah 52:6 CJB
Yesha'yahu [Yahuah is salvation] ישעה
I will write on him the name of my God
~ from Revelation 3:12 CJB
Yeshua came and talked with them.
He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth
has been given to Me.
Therefore, go and make people from all nations
into talmidim,
immersing them
into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh,
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.
And remember!
I will be with you always,
yes, even until the end of the age."
~ Matthew 28:18-20 CJB
the Third Mitzvah
"You are not to use lightly the name of [Yahuah] your God,
because [Yahuah] will not leave unpunished
someone who uses His name lightly
~ Exodus 20:7 CJB
Sh'mot [Names] שמות
Obviously we are to know the Name of our God. Otherwise we couldn't use it lightly.
But the Rabbinic tradition began obliterating the knowledge of God's name,
Except for the High Priest (cohen hagadol) on Yom Kippur;
never speaking it, almost never writing it out.
Rabbinic tradition teaches that this is to protect people from violating this third mitzvot,
of profaning the Name of God accidentally.
The logic is: if they don't know it, they can't misuse it and harm themselves.
But the darkness (ignorance) prevails in the world without the knowledge of the power of God's Name.
To know the Name of God is to have intimate experience with Who God is.
Words are things. God created with the Word.
In Hebrew language, The Name is the Character of the personality.
God has an actual name, like Bob or Fred.
not just a series of titles and euphanisms.
The actual name of God is written over 6000 times in the Tanakh.
On the Torah scrolls and the Ketuvim and the Nevi'im scrolls (the Writings and the Prophets).
which make up the "old" testament part of the Bible.
Biblical written Hebrew, on the Torah scrolls, only uses the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
there were NO written vowel markings until several hundred years after the birth of Yeshua into His earthly body.
(For the most part, written Modern Hebrew doesn't use vowel markings either. Books, magazines, etc.)
Readers of Hebrew are to get to recognize the word on sight and see how it's being used in the context.
And so words are recognized without the use of vowel markings.
The Holy Writings were always learned orally, and committed to memory "learned by heart".
So it was always known HOW to pronounce the words.
until the tradition came to obliterate the Name of God from common knowledge and usage.
And so words are recognized without the use of vowel markings.
The Holy Writings were always learned orally, and committed to memory "learned by heart".
So it was always known HOW to pronounce the words.
until the tradition came to obliterate the Name of God from common knowledge and usage.
But we have God,
and we have the promises of God,
and He has given us clues.
Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you.
Just obey the commands of [Yahuah] your God that I am giving you.
~ Deuteronomy 4:2 NLT
D'varim [words]
[Yeshua says] "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets.
I have come not to abolish but to complete.
Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away,
not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah
-- not until everything that must happen has happened.
So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot
and teaches others to do so
will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven.
But whoever obeys them and so teaches
will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
~ Matthew 5:17-19 CJB
But from there you will search again for [Yahuah] your God. And if you search for Him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him.
~ Deuteronomy 4:29 NLT
When you seek Me, you will find Me,
provided you seek for Me wholeheartedly
Jeremiah 29:13 CJB
Yirmeyahu [Yahuah lifts up] ירמיה
God promises that when we ask, seek and knock the door will be opened to us
and He will fellowship with us. (Matthew 7:7 and Revelation 3:20)
We know God in His earthly expression, in the flesh as Yeshua (Hebrew for Jesus)
in the expression and experience of His power in the Ruach HaKodesh (Hebrew for Holy Spirit)
in the expression and experience of His power in the Ruach HaKodesh (Hebrew for Holy Spirit)
The transliteration from Hebrew letters into the alphabet we use
of the actual name of God is YHVH. the Hebrew names of these letters are yud-hey-vav-hey
In the Hebrew Tanakh it's written יְהוָה
BUT since the tradition of NOT speaking the Name of God,
the vowel mrkingss that are added into the name aren't for the actual name of God
but to remind the reader to pronounce the euphanism "Adonai" [My Lord].
Most often in English Bibles where it's written "LORD", "THE LORD", it is actually YHVH. God's Name.
There is much debate about what is the Name of God,
How to pronounce the actual Name of God.
Rumor has it that there are six rabbim in Yisra'el (at all times and through all ages)
who have been entrusted with the actual name of God.
Jehovah or Yahweh are the most popular interpretations of YHVH.
In the Name of God are these Hebrew letters that are breath sounds.
Y [yud] is a "yah" sound
H [hey] is an breathy "h" sound
V [vav] is often a vowel sound, NOT pronounced as a "v" at all.
but either as a long "u" or a long "o" sound
as a long "u" sound it's known as a "shuruq"
H [hey] at the end of the word, as a gutteral leter can take an "a" vowel sound called a "furtive patach."
this vowel marking makes the last letter sound "ah"
Just as Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) has a furtive patach at the end
as does Ruach. (Spirit in Hebrew)
God is orderly and consistant.
And He is One (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)
Looking at the names of the prophets, in Hebrew offers more clues.
For example "Isaiah" in Hebrew transliteration is Yesha'yahu. יְשַֽׁעְיָהוּ
the "yahu" part represents the Name of God. Y-H-V
(the Yesha part as in "Yeshua" for 'salvation')
"Jeremiah": in Hebrew transliteration is Yirmeyahu יִרְמְיָהוּ
("yahu" part repesents the Name of God) Y-H-V
YHVH: all of these Hebrew letters are Hebrew breath sounds.
so, the name of God in transliteration is "Yahuah"
It sounds a LOT like our exclamation of pure joy and exultations in victory;
"Ya-HOOOOOOO!!" + "awe"
"awe" is not a common usage word in our language today, but it does get a lot of use as part of "awesome!!!!!".
Going back to the mitzvah of Ex 20:7.
It is NOT written; NEVER say the Name of God.
nor is it written NEVER write the Name of God.
The best understanding of the truth in this mitzvah is
We are known to be God's chosen people.
because people can witness
1) how we are changed after getting to know Yeshua and Torah
and/or
2) how we act or react differently from those who are still lost and confused.
How we reflect God's character in our choices, habits, lifestyle.
We may be the only example someone may have of who God is, and what is He like?
We may be the only example someone may have of who God is, and what is He like?
So rid yourselves of all vulgarity and obvious evil, and receive meekly the Word implanted in you that can save your lives.
Don't deceive yourselves by only hearing what the Word says, but do it!
For whoever hears the Word but doesn't do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror,
who looks at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah, which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does.
~ James 1:21-25 CJB
Jesus said to the people who believed in Him,
“You are truly My disciples
if you remain faithful to My teachings. [Torah]
And you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.”
~ John 8:31-32 NLT
The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
~ Proverbs 18:21 NIV
when we are desperate do we automatically cry out
"God!!!!!" as a curse?
or
"God!!!!!!" as a prayer?
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart,
and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.
For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:45 NIV
"You are My witnesses," says [Yahuah],
"and My servant whom I have chosen,
so that you can know and trust Me
and understand that I am He
no god was produced before Me,
nor will any be after Me."
~ Isaiah 43:10 CJB
But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree
—some of the people of Israel—
have been broken off.
And you Gentiles,
who were branches from a wild olive tree,
have been grafted in.
So now you also receive the blessing God has promised
Abraham and his children,
sharing in the rich nourishment from the root
of God’s special olive tree.
~ Romans 11:17 NLT
After the first two mitzvot of
We accept Yahuah's gift of salvation (Yeshua)
we receive the Ruach HaKodesh,
Who now resides in us.
And since we are now Informed & Empowered
We are now God's ambassadors to this earth.
in this world
but not of this world.
A new creation.
We are so humbled, Yahuah,
that You desire to be known through us.
That you offer to include us in the blessings
of others coming to know You.
So humble yourselves before God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you...
Humble yourselves before the Lord,
and He will lift you up in honor.
~ James 4: 7,10 NLT
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you...
Humble yourselves before the Lord,
and He will lift you up in honor.
~ James 4: 7,10 NLT
Halleluyah!!!!!!

this response from the bulk email version of this from one of my cafemom friend's is so cool, I'd like to share it, too!
"Holy Spirit brought to my thinking was some of the ways in which we use "ah" in the English language.
It is an expression of joy and delight;
an expression of discovery and revelation;
an expression of rest;
an expression of comfort.
Selah (pause, and calmly think of that)! "
