You may be familiar with the phrase, "lead by example." But I ask you this...do you? I like to think that I do but when I catch my behavior in front of my oldest daughter, I really don't. My main problem (like with most women) is not being comfortable with my body and my weight. I am constantly dieting and I am criticizing myself in the mirror with phrases that start with, "ugh! I don't like this," and "this makes me look fat!" When I look at my behavior through the eyes of my emotionally fragile and easily influenced daughter (she's 12!) I think, "If my mom doesn't like the way she looks, I must be ugly too." So the Glamour Girl Tip (GGT) to all mothers out there: Get off the scales, stay out off the mirrors and look at yourself the way your daughter looks at you and become that beautiful woman your daughter idolizes and loves and wants to become when she grows up!
