I'm just about 36 weeks pregnant now...I'm just letting off steam as usual.
Wow you must be hot and miserable today!
Well, generally when it is 95 degrees out with high humidity people are hot. But it sure sounds like YOU are miserable since they say misery loves company.
How are you going to deal with the pain with no drugs!
I suppose the same way I deal with stupid questions. Smile, think happy thoughts, and realize that this painful moment of listening to you is just about over. Ommmmmmmmmm.
How are people supposed to know what to buy you if you don't know the sex?
I suppose they'll have to learn the other colors of the rainbow finally.
What if something happens and you can't go back to work right away?
I suppose it would be the same scenario as when a coworker broke their leg during a freak walking accident. "Sorry boss, I had a freak walking accident and broke my leg. I won't be in to work for a while you'll have to find someone to cover me until I recover."
Are you nervous?
About what? Losing my cool and smacking you upside the head? ... Maybe.
When is the baby due?
September.
Well what day?
Sometime in September.
Well what is the actual date?
Honestly, I can go any time in September.
How come they didn't give you a due date?
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. You stupid cow, I'm not going to expire!
Comments:
I don't know. I don't see asking "Are you nervous" as being that dumb of a question. There are a lot of things to think about, and no one can ever be entirely prepared for everything.
lmfao it's worse for me now since I'm 2 weeks away from my DD and everyone's hovering me asking me if he's ready to come out
I feel sorry you had all these stupid questions to deal with
kittyhasclaws, I got asked the same thing just before my wedding..."are you nervous?" Drove me batty! If I was nervous I'd say so. But there I am with a big smile on my face -- calm, cool, and collected and people ask that. And...it makes you think...what's wrong with me if I'm not nervous!? Am I nervous? Why aren't I nervous? Did I forget something? Bad...Bad... BAD juju! I was excited, I had that feeling of anticipation, I was giddy, I felt gorgeous, and ready.
I wish they had asked me instead, "How do you feel!" with an emotion of excitement.
But nervous doesn't necessarily mean bad things. You can be nervous and excited all at the same time. You can be happy and still be nervous. Yeah, you have anxiety with the nervous, but you can have excitement just the same.
I know what you mean. When I was pregnant was Kitty I worked at Wal*Mart. My mom ended up making me a shirt that said "It's a girl, Due in September"! So any time anyone asked I would just point to the shirt and walk away.
Also this time around I opted to not find out the gender. People kept telling that it was no fun. What having the excitement of finding out at the birth isn't fun. Besides my husband knew and refused to tell anyone. It was great!
I have three kids. My oldest two are a year apart. When I was pregnant with my third, I got the question "Don't you know what causes that yet?"
Uh...causes what? I thought I swallowed a watermelon seed!
My favorite... You still havent had that baby yet?? UGH I agree due dates suck, I was due Feb 11th and was being asked from the first week of January if I had the baby yet. He finally came Feb 5th. Next time I dont want a due date just a due month.
