Mommy Daily Muse! :)

My life the sitcom...

The end of school had arrived. My house was filled with joyous laughter and happy smiles at all the endless possibilities that this season would hold. Not only were the kids ecstatic, so was I.

We danced through fields of wild flowers, celebrating this new found freedom. Okay, not really, but...The days were met with camps, swim lessons and fun summer activities. We stayed up late, reading, watching movies, playing games; throwing all structured bedtime schedules out the window to blow freely into the wind-out of sight and out of mind.

It was the best of times; until we reached a turning point, a transformation of our once joyful days into screaming, fighting, whining and tattle-filled days. It was now the worst of times. I see you nodding your head; knowing exactly what I am talking about.

The time had come. My kids must go back to school or someone would soon unexplainably come up missing...

I don't know where the summer went? I still have things that I planned on doing! Not only did I never get the chance to teach my children quantum physics to impress their teachers at the start of the new school year, but we also never flashed a single math card and I'm not even sure if the kids remember how to spell their names anymore? School starts Monday and I am holding a crash course, hoping to re-inflate their brains!

I intended on easing my children back into a schedule, but life had other plans. Reality has hit; we will be going "cold turkey". Sigh. As much as I know that my kids *need* to go back to school, a part of me is very sad...this time of years signals the fact that I will now have to locate all their shoes and match up socks after months of naked feet.

Monday is the day whether we are ready of not! I'm sure I will have a story to tell! Stay tuned...

So, when do your kids go back to school or have they already?

What grades will your kids be in?

I have a 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th grader. I am down to only one child at home!

I pray that all of us are blessed during this new school year!

Mine start Monday too!  (does anyone ever really do flash cards over the summer? lol well, kudos to them!)  I have one freshman in college, one sophomore, one eighth grader, and one sixth grader.  Mine were supposed to start Wed., the first day was postponed due to construction!!  I've been counting down the days....

Mine have been back for two weeks already . i enjoy the quiet and I am able to get things done during the day. I am sitting here wishing that we had bare foot carefree days of summer. But the truth is I hate summer in Arizona.

The kids can never be outside playing and any day camp activity is usually full.

I was glad to see school start. For my own sake of course , but also for them . It gives them something to do.

I hate Arizona. Next summer I am coming to Ohio to stay with you guys .

okay ?

ok wink

I am for sure shaking my head and agreeing with you!!

Here in our house we also can not wait until summer vacation starts. I did a way with most camps because my kids are so busy during the school year that we all need a break!!

My kids  start up again on 9/8. I work in a school and I go back 9/1. My kids are going to be 12th,10th,7th.

Here where I am in NY we get summer hw. They all have to choose a book off of the list and my ds going into 7th has math to do on the Internet. It is good for them but it is a hugh pain in the a$$ for me!!!

I hope your kids have a great day back to school. And don't worry too much before we know it they will be off for the Christmas break!!!

Mine start back on Monday.  I have 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th.  Motherhood is the biggest paradox - some days feel like an eternity yet the years fly by in a single moment.

So very true Sweetie.....Since my child is grown and out on her own I often wonder.....

Where did the years go? And how did they get by me so fast!

That's why I always tell Mom's to enjoy their child/children now because when they grow up and move away you will be saying to yourself.....

WOW where did the years go...:-)

You are so funny.... and sooooo right!  We have just finished our 2nd week of school.

Laundry has not been done for 2 weeks...

Food is sketchy at best...

The house has random papers all over it (and they are not the kids')...

Textbooks are underfoot and I keep stubing my toes...

School has started... and not a moment too soon!
