Today was definately both easier and more difficult to maintain my 1200 calorie a day diet.
Easier because I showed an 8 lb weight loss on the scale and my clothes are looser. I don't feel so bloated and stuffed. My stomach is shrinking and gettting used to less food. I don't feel as consumed by thoughts of food.
Harder because I went to a birthday party and there was so much food that I wanted to eat. That's what my family does, eat. We're really good at it :) Harder because there's pizza and Chinese food at work, including my favorites, crab rangoons. My 1/2 a pear, plain yogurt and cheerios don't look near as yummy as those crab rangoons. Harder because I know tomorrow I'm making my sauce and famous lasagna for Mike to take to work on Tuesday for the boys.
I can do this! I can resist temptation! Those rangoons and lasagna don't stand a chance against my will of iron! Plus I really want to go with Mike and my friends next weekend before school starts and I'm saving a little bit of cheating to get an appetizer and a drink that night. I've already made up my mind that I can have one drink and any one item off the appetizer menu as my main course, unsweetened ice tea with lemon is free.
I am glad that I started this a couple of weeks before school starts again. I'll already have my new eating arrangements in place and I won't feel as overwhelmed. All in all, it's really not that bad.
