Am I being selfish or a jerk?  I am doing some soul-searching here because I am always open to room for personal improvement.

My gripe is people who add me online to their friends' list, then don't want to communicate.  I don't know what I do that discourages contact?  I am online to try to make friends, not just to have the image of a big friend's list that means nothing.

I confess to recently going on Facebook and deleting people who had requested to be added as friends because when I would try to send them messages, they would ignore my attempt to connect.  If they didn't want to get to know me, why did they add me to their list?

So, I wondered how common this problem is with other people and if there are others who feel the same way I do or if I am being selfish to expect anything.  I try to be a good person, and maybe it is wrong to expect something.  I always say if it is meant to happen, it will.  I just don't understand why it isn't.

Sometimes people will send one or two comments and then fade into the background.  So, I have to wonder if it's me giving off bad vibes or something.

Ehhh.. that happens to me too both on here and facebook.  I personally think some people are "friend hoarders'.  They want to have as many people on their lists as possible and have no intention of communicating.  I've tried to talk with chatterboxes, noes and whatnot but it's not always successful.  I really don't think it's you, rather they are just flaky, boring people!
