Jacob's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Jacob's 2nd birthday party this weekend.  It was train themed party, which Jacob loved.  We put out all of Jacob's toy train's as decorations and had a train cake.  Jacob loved the "boose" (caboose) and the "moke" (smoke- marshmallows) on the cake.   I made it out of Angel Food cake which is his favorite but he only had one bite- he is still picky about food.  The cake took 40 min to piece together and shape and another 3 1/2 hours to frost.  It came out allright but not quite as though it took that long too make.

We had the party at 10:30 so we just served snacks along with the cake and ice cream.  I put the snacks out to be shaped like a landscape which everyone seemed to enjoy.  I was enjoying the edible art thing that day I guess.

He got tons of toys- his favorites including a bubble mower, a Parent's brand remote control car with only one button, and a gift card to build-a-bear (he made a dog named "popcorn" that has the same shoes as he does).  Jacob was so cute opening presents, he would help me pull the wrapping paper off and then toss it to the side if it was clothes but keep it in his lap if it was a toy.  Not exactly what I want him to learn but everyone laughed.

Overall lots of fun, and other than the cake it was simple to do!

oh how fun! happy birthday to your Jacob. our son's name is also Jacob, we call him jake most of the time, he loved his bubble mower when he received one when he was that age,  we have pics of him cutting the grass just like mommy, so fun at that age.

Wow, what a cool train.  I wish we could of made it.  You'll have to show me how to make a cake like that one day.  What a great table layout.

Cute Cake!!  And yes to me it looks like it took that long to make.  I probably would have been yelling at it, lol 

Looks like ya'll had a lot of fun!  Sorry we couldn't be there.  Hope to see you guys soon.
