My big boy starts school, ESE Pre-K, on the 26th. I am so worried. I have never left him with anyone besides my parents and DH. How can I handle this? I had an anxiety attack today just taking him for his orientation!! How am I supposed to handle when he actually goes to school? There are just so many horror stories out there and this woman (as nice as she seemed today) is still a stranger.

I'm sorry...I know it is difficult. But, you have to have some faith in knowing that he is in a protected environment. He is old enough to tell you if anything isn't right and you can go by and check on him whenever you want. To ensure that you don't scare him into thinking there is something awful at school that is going to hurt him...do you have medicine you can take to calm yourself down some? Or, is there a friend or relative that can take him to school? Or...if there is a bus...you should put him on it...HE will do better with the separation and you will too if he can ride the bus (although thats' pretty scary for MOM's the first time)...just make sure he has his "Tag" on and knows to have it when coming home. I hope you both will be fine...maybe if you tell yourself that HE NEEDS YOU to be calm and have it together...if HE has ANY concerns he will be looking to you for comfort. GOOD LUCK...after a few days (and you seeing that he is having a GREAT time) it will be much easier!
