Today, kids have no shortage of entertainment.  Everywhere you look, there is a new tv show or internet craze that is reaching out to kids with the ultimate goal of reaching out to parents' pocketbooks.  If you hook the kid, you'll get the money.  Kids marketers have figured this out a long time ago, and they've now perfected the science.  It's quite amazing how parents can become slaves to the kids wants.  For example, let's look at the Wiggles.  Take a look at this vide:

I mean, this is four grown men singing about hot potatoes, cold spaghetti and mashed bananas.  Really?  And yet, this simple concept has sold millions in merchandise.  They are not alone.  You can pick out any number of kids shows that have reproduced the same formula: Ben 10, Hannah Montana, Strawberry Shortcake, Thomas Tank Engine, Yo Gabba Gabba, TMNT, and many more.  Now, you have all of these shows from the 80's coming out with movies too in order to try to get the kids and the adults to spend money.  GI Joe and Transformers are a few examples.

Crazy.  These marketers are brilliant because it works, and as long as it does, they'll keep cranking out new kids entertainment.
