My Daughter and my Splurge!

I was a single mom when I had my daughter Morgan in June of 2000.  I had a great job and I was able to get a small condo and save a ton of money before my daughter was born.  I took a year off before I returned to work.  And when I did return I was able to go back just part time as a Gymboree teacher. 

My daughter did not ask to be brought into this world.  It was not her fault that her biological father (or sperm donor as I call him)  decided he did not want to be a father and left us.   I promised her that I would do everything I could to provide her a great life and be thebest mom I could.  And that she would never feel like she was missing something. 

Now i do what I can and no one is perfect.  But one thing I always wanted to do was to purchase a bottle of Dom Perignon from the year she was born and put it away for a special occasion. 

Well that was 9 years ago and Dom Perignon just released the year 2000 bottles.  Since I had her, I have met my PRINCE CHARMING and had 2 other children.  But yesterday my PRINCE came home with a year 2000 bottle of Dom Perignon.  Just because he knew it was important to me. 

He spent $150 on one bottle of Champagne!  I LOVE him!!!  It is SO impractical but I really wanted it.  I know my daughter is only 9 but when she turns 21 or graduates from college or gets engaged, her FATHER (the man who has raised her with me since she was 4) and I and possibly her brothers and or fiancee will sit down and share this bottle together.

I don't want my kids to grow up too fast but I do look forward to watching my daugher grow into a beautiful young woman and then hopefully a mom.  (If thats what she wants =:)
