- Title: FASD: Preventable...Treatable...or Both?
- When: September 15, 2009 from 10:00AM-4:30PM
- Where: Wingate by Wyndham, 108 Saluda Pointe Ct. (Hwy 378 and I-20), Lexington, SC 29072
- Who Should Attend: Clinical counselors, prevention professionals and other individuals who work with women of childbearing age and/or with children. This event is for all those involved with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), either professionally or personally.
- Prerequisite: None
- Description: Participants will hear the latest updates on FASD research and strategies, and will discuss how South Carolina can best address this issue. Come prepared with your questions, issues, and specific situations that the group can help problem solve.
- Objectives:
- To understand how to diagnose as well as treat FAS
- To gain a better understanding of the specific social deficits in children with FASD
- To work as a community to prevent FASD
- Trainer: Dan Dubovsky, MSW, FASD Specialist for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's FASD Center for Excellence

- Registration Deadline: September 11, 2009 Cancellations must be made in writing and received five working days prior to the training event. Substitute attendees are permitted.
