demanding a little respect from my neighbors!

I live in a townhouse and i am an ex smoker of 13 yrs. It's been 7 mos now since i last lit up. Now I know my neighbors pretty well (much more then i care to in fact!) They have been my mom friends for the last 2 years. They each smoke and they each have kids. Now that it is summer, my 3 yr old dd's room is as hotter then satan's asshole! There for I like to keep her bedroom window open at night with a fan in it. I did this last summer as well. (when I was still smoking) DH and I always walked across the court yard to have a smoke at night so that the smoke did not enter her room. (all the neighbors saw this and knew why we did so) However this whole summer I have had to ask them to not smoke near her window because the smoke is going into her room at night. At first they thought it was just because I was pregnant and moody, even though I told them my feelings behind it. Now that im not pregnant Im just a reformed smoker in their eyes! This is horse shit!!! My kid does not need their fucking second hand smoke infesting her little lungs every night while she sleeps!! Im so SO sick of having to even ask them to respect her! I understand they don't give a shit about their own kids...so why should they care about mine, right?! They smoke in their house and in their cars with their kids! I had one tell me today how she feels bad because when she see's her little girls run (age's 18 mos and 2 1/2) they seem to have to stop as gasp for air every few seconds...NOT NORMAL!! Not with my kid anyhow...not yet that is! I have gone about this the nice was over and over...what do I say now? Do I become mega bitch!! I mean shit it even comes in my back door where my 2 month old gets a wiff of it! Im gonna be nice and FIRM about it one more time...next time Im flyin off the fuckin handle!

i had the same problem. i dont smoke and when i was living in another complex the neighbor did well came to find out ds has asthma so i asked the neighbor nicely to smoke on the other side of our building worked for a week then i told him look my son is sick and im pregnant now too so please dont smoke under my open windows. didnt work i made the building manager get us a air conditonar. so that worked until i had dd and releaized she needed a heart monitor and a nubilizer. neighbor still smoked outdide my window and it came in all the time so we moved downstairs away from him and again he would go towards my apartment. i finally went crazy. YELLED " LISTEN JERK STOP SMOKING NEXT TO MY WINDOWS AND DOOR, I HAVE SICK CHILDREN AND U NEED TO STOP UR SHIT" of course then then he yelled at me saying im too damn sensitive. now we have moved and its ok. but im hoping that everything works out for u. also ask ur ped doc to give u papers that says NO SMOKING NEAR THIS APARTMENT. ASMATIC CHILDREN/ OR NEEDS OXYGEN

No the next time you need to fly your ass out of the neighborhood. If you want to be free of smoke go to a smoke free planet. You can not stop them from smoking.
