Why are women so judgemental about the girls they went to high school with?

I've seen so many of my friends talk about girl's they've seen from high school and say "oh she's gotten fat" or "she's so ugly now".  I've seen some of these women they're talking about and they are by no means ugly, fat or anything other than beautiful.  OMG! Come on!  Look at yourself.  You're not the size you were in high school and I've heard people say you were fat. I don't agree with them either.

Sure they're not a size 1 like in high school, but come on!  Who the hell is?  Are you?  Am I?  Hell no.  I've had three kids.  Carrying children takes a toll on your body.  Even if you don't have kids, you're still not going to be the same size you were back in high school.  No one's stomach is as flat as it was back then.   It's called age, get over it.

Back in high school most girls that size never ate lunch.  Now a days we eat our kids left overs, that's our lunch and dinner.  We should be thin, because we don't get to eat our own meal for so many interruptions and we're constantly running.  Taking kids to school, dropping them off at t-ball, grocery shopping and running errands, but it don't work that way.  We age, we put on the weight.  It doesn't mean that just because we're no longer a size 1 we're fat.

I don't care who you are, if you look good and feel good, I don't think you're fat or ugly, and anyone who says we are is a complete idiot.  DH included.

You know you're right. I think maybe high school is such a hard time for some that they finally blossom as adults. When they look back, there's still a little bitterness, maybe? But no kidding having children takes its toll. I like to remind my DH about that!
