My son has Autism.  To have a child with Autism is very difficult and frustrating but in the end it's always worth the hard work because of all the love I have for my son. I was watching a tv program called Autism Every Day the other day and all of a sudden I just cried. I became so emotional hearing all of the things that the other mothers were saying about their autistic child. I knew then that I needed someone to talk to who can relate to the situations I go through. I am a 26 year old mother of 3 and to have alot on my back, especially an autistic child has made me a stronger mom.

hugs There are days when I ask myself if I am strong enough to keep going and the answer is always yes, we have bad days and i question if I am doing everything right or if i somehow failed my son who has autism. It is a roller coaster of emotions for parents, surround yourself with people who understand and can be a support system or shoulder to lean on. Also join one of the autism support groups either here or in your local area it can make a big difference in your life and help you to stay healthy emotionally.

Well thank you so much for that. That is very encouraging. So far I like this site. I live in TN and it's not alot of support groups out here. It seems as if everyone who has a child with autism is hiding  somewhere.

My son is 16. We found out when he was 3 that he was autistic. It is very hard to find support in my area to, I live in KY. It seems that there is a new challenge every day. Hang in there, and don't forget to take some time for yourself, to recharge.
