You know I recently went to the doctor and found out some things that did not make me very happy at all. We got on the discussion of the proper foods to feed our children and the foods that harm them. I found out from my Cardiologist and Hepatologist that most food that children and teens consume today are putting them at risk for all sorts of health problems, including Cardiovascular disease, stroke, high cholesterol, liver disease and all sorts of cancers. My son who is only ten had some tests run and was found to be at significantly high risks for cardiovascular problems, already has high cholesterol and is nutrient deficient. All due to his daily diet and the schools are just as bad feeding them fast food type foods, deep fried, high fat, high sugar content. We need to stop and think as parents are we killing our children. Now is a time to take a stand against childhood obesity, juvenile diabetes and many other various health problems our children are facing. A good web site I have found to help determine the proper foods is the government pyramid web site. You can type in some basic information and they will help you plan a diet safe for you and your children. Please check it out and lets raise a generation of healthy children.
