So today went pretty well. I kept busy by doing some deep cleaning. Although I do have a confession. At lunch my kids wanted some ramen noodles. So i made them noodles for lunch. And here's the confession i took bite out of the noodles even after checking the ingredients while cooking. So i let my son give my hand a smack. Which i think he enjoyed a little too much lol. And than promptly reheated the left over tofu and tossed it with orzo and garlic burst tomatos and it was sooo good.
My dh keeps teasing me saying when he gets home he's going to make himself a 20 dollar steak and i can have the potatos. har har. lol I said go for it. Than he tried to take the teasing up a notch by saying well I guess i will have to take our son to the steakhouse now since your not eating meat anymore. I told him i am pretty positive i could find something that i could eat. And he was like no no no wouldnt want to tempt ya. So I asked him why he was trying to punish me for making good choices and he laughed and said that he was just playing and that he was very proud of me. Which made me feel good since everyone else thinks it's a joke and that it won't last very long
So anyway aside from my minor slip i did pretty well. My mil borrowed my skinny bitch book and she likes it alot so far. Now whether or not she will actually change her diet well I highly doubt that. I am starting to run into a little problem though. I am on p.a. and have foodstamps so when that money is gone we have to make the food last until the first of the month. And I am running low on veggies. i still have lots of beans. So i really have to make the food stretch until tuesday. I mean i can make the kids and my husband whats left of the meat so they wont go hungry but i might have to be a little hungry for a day or so. So that kinda sucks but on the bright side now that I have started this diet change the foodstamps might actually last til the end of the month if not having a little bit leftover. We will have to wait and see. Because I have gotten much better about planning out meals and eating healthier. That reminds me. I used to be one of those people that thought healthy food was too expensive but here i find out that the way we were eating before was much more expensive. crazy stuff. I don't know why i thought that in the first place. So anyway on to the menu
I skipped breakfast this morning. I know bad bad bad but snacked on nuts and leftovers from lastnight off and on all morning
12:30 leftover tofu and orzo with garlic burts tomatoes. delicious
6:30 mexican lentil chilli... Pleasantly surprised about this one. I had never made lentils before so i was kind of scared about it so i added some pinto beans to it as well lol. Needless to say you probably don't want to be in the same room right about now. lmao

LOL
I have been trying to go vegan for a while. i was not going to go cold turkey but rather to gradually increase vegan eating and decrease all the rest.
I get lazy and make mac and cheese for the kids, then I eat it myself. *sigh*
For day six, you are doing awesome. Keep it up!
