It's crazy to think how far I have come in two years- from being a black belt in TaeKwonDo to flat on my back in chemo while my husband was deployed....and how much it has changed me.
My perspective certainly has changed. Now I want to do ALL the things that I have put off. I know it's not important to run the rat race to make money. It IS important to take vacations and to stop and smell the roses. When your kids say "Het Mom" you say "Hey What?" and REALLy listen. Someone those silly little things that your husband used to do to annoy you are really funny now.
I am the fourth generation in my family to get breast cancer- the only survivor. This was based on a promise I made to my girls when I got sick. They made me promise to beat it. They saved my life. They are my heroes. I owe them everything. My youngest two gave up all social activities, and my oldest her college scholarships. No one could ask for better kids.
Now it's my turn to repay them by being there for them. I am so happy to get the chance.
