Were in the hospital with Beatrix (since this morning). She has been projectile vomiting with some watery diarrhea. That a long with how hard she is to wake up... seriously, its scary hard to get her to wake at all let alone to eat. They did some blood work, urinalysis, chest x-ray, aaand a freaking spinal tap. They discovered I had a UTI shortly after the c section so she could have an infection from when she was still in the comfy ol womb, or maybe just reflux. Who knows. The did the spinal just in case its meningitis.  Her blood came back good but every thing else we have to wait 24 to 48 hours.  The doc said we will be here at least 48 hours.  It sucks.  It really fucking sucks.  I hate just sitting here waiting for results and in the mean time every 3 to 4 hours I try to feed my baby who doesnt want to wake up to eat, and when she does eat Im scared she will throw it up again.   It feels like one thing after another with her, but Im sure its all connected.  So lets just hope its some thing as simple as reflux.  SHe is still jaundice ( Thursday she was at a 12) so maybe thats why she is so freaking tired...  The knot in my stomach is making me feel sick.

So my wonderful lady friends that is whats up.  If any one can relate please let me know.  Im just sitting here... waiting.

I hope you get good news soon. It sounds like you are exhausted. You need to try to sleep in between feedings.

You need sleep.  Try to go home and rest.  The jaundice will tire the baby out a lot.  12 is high, but not the highest I have heard.

Sometimes their little bellies just need a few days to adjust to feedings, more then the average baby.

Try to get some rest.   You will need all your strength for when she is home!

both my kids had awful GERD, or reflux.  Awful!  but usually there is no projectile vomit and it doesn't start until 2 weeks or so.  Oh i hope they have a smiple and easy answer to your little pumpkin.  Take care of yourself.  If I was there I would be cooking up a batch of comfort cookies for you in your kitchen.

my son had the same symptoms and it turned out to be a milk/soy protein allergy..he was literally allergic to my breast milk.  He is a healthy and happy almost two year old now.  I hope the best for you and your family.

I have no info, but I do think you should take advantage of the fact that you can't do anything, and the fact that she is in the hospital where lots of folks are keeping an eye on her, to get some rest. Don't forget that, as a mom, especially a mom to a newborn, taking care of yourself is not a luxury - it is something you need to do for her. If you are not at your best, her most important resource is not at its best. I know it is probably hard to sleep, but if you can, do! In the meantime I am continuing to keep all four of you in my thoughts and prayers. Much love, Leticia
