...for my serger. (It's a kind of sewing machine, for those of you going "what?")
I got my lovely Phaff Hobbylock 788 serger for Christmas when I was 18. It was one of the best presents I ever received. That serger has been with me from Ohio to Chicago to California to New York and to New Jersey. It has sewn for me, for collage, for summer stock, for professional theatre, for medieval garb, for friends. It has been so reliable. I love my serger. Two weeks ago I took it into the local store that specializes in that brand of machines because it was sick. They had to send it to the manufacturer because they couldn't fix it. I got it back today, it is unfixable.
I will miss my serger. I will also miss the half a grand to buy a new one.
