WE NEED A MIRACLE! -So Cal Wildfire Update..... Monday, Aug 31st, 2009 4:00pm

 Saturday afternoon we got the call to evacuate, because the fire was heading toward us.  We packed up the cars and waited.  Some neighbors stayed.  Hubby wanted to stay, so I did too.  I just couldn't leave him.  I barely slept that night.

Sunday morning was eerie.  Since cars couldn't come up the hill, it was total silence.  The quiet was so "loud", it was eerie!  Murray (my pup) and I took a walk to the corner Sunday morning, which is not too far, since we are the second house from the corner.  We came face to face with three baby deer.  Poor babies got pushed out of the mountains by the fire.  I have a picture, but the external hard drive is packed up and so is my camera. 

Once the helicopters arrived, the quiet turned to loud noise and vibrations.  But, I felt safe while they were here.  Took a short nap Sunday, even with the water dropping helicopters overhead.

At 3:00am this morning (oh, yeah, I didn't sleep last night either), I could hear the siren and the loudspeaker telling people to evacuate.  But, it was about 5 blocks away.  They are still under mandatory evacuation.  We are still voluntary - I think (gonna check as soon as I finish writing).  Hubs is watering the yard and house (even tho today is NOT our day under the water rationing rules - who cares at this point - it's over 100 degrees, no humidity, fire is on the hill just a little from our house, I hope the city will understand)

I'm exhausted -

I've got lots of pics and video to post, but just cannot do it now.  Will get to it later.  I'll have my laptop, but don't know if I'll be able to get online or not.  OR, IF the fire shifts again, maybe we'll still be here at home.  Last I heard it was headed back our way from both directions.  Gonna go check the news again. 

Crap!  I'm rambling - I do that, especially when I'm lacking sleep and am stressed.

We sure could use some white-light protection and some prayers (if you have connections with the big man upstairs - or not - just please pray for all of us here in So Cal -

we need a miracle right now.  105,000 acres have burned and it's still only 5% contained.  They expect it to keep going until Sept 15th.  However, it's so out of control, who knows.

Oh Ginny....I hope you are safe this night. I am for sure sending you lots of prayers and for sure asking the man upstairs to protect you guys in So Cal.... Be safe and take care.

Wow!!   Lady!!   You are way more brave than I would be in your place!!  I would be doing a lot more 'rambling' than you've done !    I will be praying for you constantly!!   I can't believe people are placed in this precarious position so regularly.   How terrible for you & everyone.  Take Care & Keep us informed , as much as possible !!
