Esmeralda has now healed from her second ear infection in one month. The first one did heal because her pediatrician looked at it and said it was healed, so we do know for a fact that it was two separate ear infections. However, since they were very close, she said that if she has another one within the next month, we'll probably consider putting tubes in her ears. Possibly waiting to see if a fourth one comes shortly after. Mainly because it can lead to loss of hearing or holes in her ears if she keeps getting them so close together. Her pediatrician also said that her ear canals are narrow, making her prone to lots of ear wax (despite cleaning) and ear infections, which makes sense because I also have narrow ear canals and have the same problem (not the infections though). She said it is genetics, and since on my dad's side of the family had a lot of ear infections which led to getting tubes in their ears, as well as some in Pablo's family, she is almost certain that it is because of this. That's why if she has one more, we'll talk about tubes. But she wants to wait for one more just in case these two were just randomly coincidental. In the mean time, even though her ear infection is healed, we are to keep giving her the antibiotics until the bottle is empty just in case.
