Back to school time in our house doesn't really look any different from any other time of the year. We're homeschoolers so for us, school never really stops. I shouldn't say school, I should really say learning. Even though we may not do what looks like school, we're always learning something.
For us, traditional schools started back last monday. Which is also the day I decided to go shopping at the goodwill. I found a nice pair of pants but had to replace the zipper, but this is beside the point. lol Within 10 minutes of being there, a lady asked why my boys weren't in school! lol I know by now I shouldn't let this question get to me, but I don't ask why you're not at work, so please don't ask why my kids aren't in school. I mean, I'd gladly tell you we homeschool but the explaining the reasons why gets a little tiring.
I will say, that being back to school time is nice, because our homeschool group starts back to our monthly meetings and occasional field trips. We've got an exciting year planned for our group and lots of new families. Also Austin seems to be doing much better with his subtraction, it must have just clicked for him while we were doing other things cuz we're breezing right thru 2nd grade math. Actually, with the exception of the normal reluctance to do school work, school time at home is going rather well.
I've been pretty lax on the frequency with which we do sit down work, but we've been taking more educational videos out of the library and Austin's taken to playing on more educational websites. It may not look like tradtional schooling but it's working and that's what's important.

I hope it's going well! I think I could have homeschooled my kids but I think trying with my "severe" ADHD oldest son, it put a sour taste in my mouth. Phil and JoJo are little sponges that learn all the time! Good for you, that you are able to do it!
