So bittersweet! I am SO THANKFUL that everything turned out this way, and Davis started mainstream kindergarten and at the elementary school I had always hoped my kids' would attend. (The same school I attended, Jason, Mom, Dad, My in-laws, and several of our grandparents even went too!) Bittersweet, because I seen a friend of mine in the hallway and she was so tore up about leaving her son for the first time at kindergarten, and I realized that this was Davis' fourth first day of school and he is only 5yrs!!

Anyhow, a different route to get here than I imagined, but we are here....and my extremely smart, beautiful son started kindergarten and it was so fun!!

Heading to his class...That is Aunt Nonna holding his hand. I am behind him talking to friends of ours whose twins were starting kindergarten as well!

Checking it out!

Can you tell he is excited!?!? LOL!! He has this goofy grin in almost all the pics!

Davis had smuggled in some toys so we were trying to pack them back up in the backpack! Carter kept saying "Don't leave me here! Don't leave me here! I don't want to be kindergarten!" LOL!

If you look close, you will see that the locker next to his is a girl name Olivia...according to Davis, she wants to be his girlfriend, but he keeps telling her that I'm his girlfriend!! So, then this Olivia (she sounds a little pushy!! LOL!) said that they could be best friends, and Davis told her that I was his best friend too!!LOL!!! Oh, I wonder how long that will last......??

Mammy plants a good luck smooch on Davis cheek. He is just hating the attention!! LOL! What a ham! That is a buddy from last year's class, so Davis was thrilled to see him again!

Picture Ham??? Could it be genetic?? Aren't they cute!!?? Isn't that outfit CUTE!!??? Thanks to Anna Mena for the shorts and shoes, and Mammy for the shirt!!

Found his name and hand print that he made the week previously during the orientation/testing. BTW, I was told by two different teachers now that he knows all the kindergarten standards, and technically could start first grade! So proud! Sorry...I just had to brag a little! (We don't move him though for social reasons! LOL!)

Well, that is all the pics I got! I did take pics with him, but I don't have them. When Davis got home from school, he was still in such a good mood and claimed to have LOVED school!!! I haven't gotten any notes, and a friend of mine (that is a teacher) has been checking on him and says that he is doing well! Fingers crossed and prayers sent that it continues!

Sounds like you have a great friend checking in on your son like that.  You are lucky.  lol.  Seriously though, I am very proud of Davis.  He is such a smartie and doing great!
