Oliver has a mast cell tumor on his left hind leg at the ankle. Now,
I've been down this road before with Yukon (our previous Boxer), so I
know that Boxers are especially prone to these things and most of the
time, they're no big deal. It looks like we caught this one nice and
early.
Still, I hate this. I just do. He'll go in Friday for surgery. Since
it's on an extremity, he has to have a general anaesthesia. Luckily,
his heart's good -- the very slightest of murmurs, unlike Yukon's
moderate aortic stenosis -- but I don't like this yucky feeling I have.
This dread. This reminder of the very worst that could happen with
canine cancers.
So, he'll be fine, right?
Right?
*sigh* This is my Oliver (the dog, not the boy. The boy is my MonkeyBoy.)

I'm so sorry to hear this. We lost our beloved gray tabby in late spring to feline cancer. Sending good thoughts and healing vibes to Oliver and you! Hang in there!
