We're going to adopt as soon as I'm done with college (2 1/2 years for my B.A. Degree).  Hubby might go home in June 2010 to visit his family.  We're still waiting on the school's decision for hubby for his ph. d.  Hubby has to have all his schools send in official transcripts but everything else is complete.  I found out that hubby's country doesn't allow women to take adopted children out of the country, but then they don't let women adopt from there either.  We may look @ Bahrain for adoption.  Definitely going to adopt a baby though and a kid up to 5 year old, maybe get a 2 year old.  We looked @ houses in Bahrain, found a nice one with a private pool and a gym.  I don't know how long it would take for hubby to find a job, 6 months to 1 year.  He applied for a job in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia so we'll see how that goes.  I would like to adopt from foster care in USA but would most likely be disqualifed due to me being Muslim, hubby being from Middle East, and my childhood mental illnesses.  Plus I probably wouldn't be able to study much with a small child anyway.  I don't care about the gym, the pool is nice.   I told hubby I don't know how to swim, I can only doggy paddle.  He said we'd learne together.  Maybe when I go to Bahrain (we'll be raising our children there) and are financially secure (I don't plan on going to school past my B.A.) Allah (Subhanna wa ta'ala) will bless us with a baby/pregnancy of our own.  I think Allah (Subhanna wa ta'ala) is protecting us from having kids while we are both students and are not financially secure to have them right now in our life.  I'll be so happy when I can finally become pregnant (Insha Allah) and will be thrilled when we adopt.  Adoption from Saudi takes 3 months and you don't pay anything. The boy has to be married and have a job.  Insha Allah soon hopefully I'll get done with my stupid degree and go home to Bahrain to live with hubby if he doesn't get accepted for his Ph. D.
