22nd annual trail of tears pow wow

 i was sick last year and missed it, but it is coming up this coming saturday and sunday. the 12th and 13th at 10 am... i will be there at 9 to get a good place for taking pics. i have years worth of pow wow pics, but have always been enamored with the beauty of who i call indian barbie. maybe not politically correct, but she is native american and no sh*t , her name really is barbie.  she is georgeous and when she straightens that back and is prancing around in her regalia, i think it may be the most beautiful thing i have ever seen in the world. i have always kinda snapped shots off undercover cause we are supposed to ask permission before we take some photos of them, understandable, but when you are dealing with the fancy dance or even the opening ceremony and someone in an exceptional costume comes out, seriously, am i supposed to run out and stop it and ask can i take your picture? well i met barbie today. funny enough nowhere near the pow wow circuit. she works at a store i went to today and was admiring my leather saddle purse. i thought she sure looks like barbie( i talked to her hurriedly several times at events in the past). then she said something about her regalia and i said oh crap , you are barbie. she laughed and said yes. i told her i have several lovely pics of her from powwows of the past,  to which she was excited to see.hmph, i thinks maybe this year i can get permission to use my camera and dont have to snap on the sly..... i am so excited and dont care what kind of pain i am in this year, just take my umbrella and my pain pills with me.  yummy, indian tacos and buffalo burgers for lunch and supper... oh and cant forget to get the fry bread!! i always buy native made jewelry or pottery for my collection... oh i am so looking forward to seeing what treasure i will find this year. my only regret is tat it will be too hot for me to wear my beautiful navajo or cherokee beaded mocs. you know bunny lining is so warm in the winter but omg, lined bunny fur when it is 90' out just isnt fair, but i do get to wear my bone chokers, fetish necklace and some of my other jewelry... cant wait to show you some pics...
