I was just going through some old writings and saw something that the LORD had shown me some 4 years ago. This is just a rambling post, and I'm not sure how it will come together.... but maybe some of you ladies can read and give some thoughts!
Is your land being possessed by fear? ....lies? ....scary memories? ....false images of "God?"
In Exodus 23, starting in verse 27 ...it tells how that GOD would send His fear (the fear of GOD) into the hearts of their enemies, and that He would send the hornets to drive out the inhabitants of the land, for GOD had given His people the land!
But ....if you keep reading, the LORD said He would not do this all in one year, or else the land would become desolate, and the beasts of the field would multiply against them.
Look at vs 30:
"By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land."
Reading on further... vs 31-33
"And I will set thy bounds from the Red Sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river (Euphrates): for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee! **Who are the inhabitants of your land? Scary memories... perps, bad habits, coping mechanisms? GOD will deliver them into your hand... little by little... if we rush forward too quickly, we will be overwhelmed. He is able to keep us, steady our steps, set our pace ....as we walk forward toward healing and wholeness! He will drive them out from before us, and hand us back our memories, and heal us!**
Thou shalt make no convenant with them, nor with their gods. **What "gods" is this talking about? What did your abuse teach you about GOD? This is called "experiential truths" ...things we learned because the abuse taught us not to trust or hope. What false images of GOD do we have in front of us, that maybe we did not realize were there? GOD loves us! He knows those lies are there and how they got there... did we learn that "God" hates us? IS that the truth? What would the One True LORD JESUS have to say about that? The abuse taught us a lot of things that were "true" to us ...and in essense, we made covenant/agreement with those lies about who GOD is. His work of healing is to disspell those lies ...to shine His light there and drive them out with His truth!!!!**
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee!" **They - the lies that hold us captive to serving that false image of GOD - SHALL NOT DWELL in OUR land!! As long as they are there, they cause us to sin against our GOD who truly loves us and wants us FREE and has already given us the land! He wants to set us free from the lies that our experience of abuse taught us... so they can no longer hold us captive! In this way, our memories will be ours ...and will no longer have a hold on us through fear, guilt, shame!**

WOW! Ever wonder why we have to go through a process to get our healing? I'm going to leave a quote here from my sweet friend who has supported and prayed with me through these past 3+ years of my healing:
"Do not despair over the journey... surely, our LORD is able to give us a 'quick-fix!'
But we would not learn anything, and would not know how to maintain -
And pretty soon we would be in need of another 'quick-fix!' "
Possess the land! Go forward with the LORD GOD!
Keep your eyes on Him as you
march forward, and as He steadies you and sets your pace!
HE HAS GIVEN YOU THE LAND!!!

God takes us through a process, His work is not magic nor is it for his own gain. His work is excellent, it takes times to perfect, and is permanent>ever lasting! When you go through a process from one place to another, from glory to glory, you will find once completed...this work cannot be undone. We want true and lasting change, and that is exactly what is needed when there has been years of damage and abuse. The process heals us, our life is restored through relearning how to feel, think, and live. The process is so very important in order for it to be lasting. We could not maintain if we did not relearn how to walk and talk and feel. God is not a magician He renews us and changes us from within as we seek and worship Him and stick close to Him. I know you will have your live restored and whole, because your love for the Lord brings joy to Him and everyone who knows you.

Guess you can tell I love finding new fonts - hehe! Some people don't care for the fonts ....but I can't help it! Perty, huh? :)

Prayer for Truth
*as taught to me by the LORD*
(according to Psalm 57:1-3; Psalm 51:6;
Jer. 1:12; Is. 55:11)
'Be merciful unto me, O GOD!
Be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in You!
In the shadow of Your wings will I make my refuge
until these calamities be overpassed!
