Until i joined this website. I think its insane and totally blown out of the water. And i'm so tired of hearing this whole if you need to be on PA you shouldn't have children. When my BF and I found out we were pregnant we were estatic. And he HAD a good paying job. More than enough to the expenses of a child. We moved up to Austin because i was attending school at the University of Texas and the job he had lined up totally screwed him over. Suddendly they didnt have any room for him. All we had was the money from his last check coming in and our Tax refund to pay for our rent, light, cell phone, midwife, gas, groceries and any other necessities. I applied for PA, and we got foodstamps and medicaid. Which is good becasue we ended up having to go to the hopsital to deliever my daughter which would have been another 3 or 4 thousdand that we would have owed! I saw someone on here say that people on PA dont know what sacrifices are. I think that is a LOAD OF SHIT. I sacrificed school, my boyfriend sacrificed his job and my parents had to help support us for 6 months! YES thats how long it took for him to find a job. And we were searching every day and night. I think i have every right to have a child even if i had to go on PA, and i think that anyone should be able to as well. Yes  i know there are some people who take advantage of PA, but i dont understand why everyone assumes that everyone on PA is abusing what they  have. I have never sold a food stamp or bought anyone else groceries for money. I use what i have to take care of my family and make sure my daughter can have medical care.

You get used to it.  Most of them are silver spoon mommies that have those silver spoons inserted firmly into their asses.

My DH has been laid off since March.  I wish we could get PA.  I make too much money for them but not for a family of four apparently.

I hope these snobs never have to go on PA.  I pray no one would ever have to deal with the things we have had to put up with since March.

Mostly not having health insurance.  I would like to smack those who say we should not have a public option for those of us who don't have health care.  I didn't wreck the economy that caused my DH to lose his job.

Isn't it crazy?! I agree people shouldn't just be getting pregnant with the Whatever, I can get PA! attitude. But man! So many people are extremely hateful towards those less financially fortunate. I didn't know people could be so wrong about those on PA til Cafemom.

I really wish those people who look down their noses at those of us on assistance could spend one... just ONE... day in our shoes. I doubt any of them would survive that long, let alone continue being so damn snotty.
