The only possible illness is the damn swine flu!!!

 Seriously, everything surrounding Swine Flu is completely out of control.  It is ridiculous!!!!  These are things that are happening locally.

I got a call from a friend, her daughter was in the nurse's office at school with a 102 fever and needed to be picked up-daddy was stuck in a class and couldn't leave and they were 2 girls short that day-and it's open enrollment, so she really couldn't leave work.  Could I go get her daughter from school-sure.  So I go to get the little girl from school-it's Friday.  I am told by the school nurse that if the little girl is not better by Monday that her parents need to take her to the doctor-AND GET TESTED FOR SWINE FLU!!!  It must be the damn Swine Flu, no other disease or illness exists in the country right now!!!!  Of course it's not the 24 hour bug that is running rampant right now, or another ear infection (this little girl gets them a lot this time of year), or anything else it must be the Swine Flu.  So now, my friend and I are relatively intelligent, and just let what the nurse said roll off of us-not because we are in denial that the Swine Flu could be a problem, but because we were both reasonably certain-neither of us medical professionals, that she did not have the Swine Flu.  Now, other parents on the other hand.....the school nurse says that, if that one did, their is a good chance that other school nurses are saying that too.  Some parents would immediately take their child to the ER, because the school nurse said the kid might have the swine flu.   What is this going to do? Clog up the ER for no damn reason, and result in probably by the end of the swine flu season millions of dollars of unneccessary medical bills!!!!!!

And then their is one of the local colleges.  In the first 2 weeks of classes, they have 30 confirmed cases of the swine flu.  They aren't going to test for it anymore, they are just going to assume it's the swine flu!!!!!!  GREAT!!!!!  So when they get it wrong it is going to cost even more for the person to get better-because instead of Zithromax or another cheap antibiotic-their infection will be bad enough to need Cipro or Levaquin!!!!!!  Because of course, symptoms can only be symptoms of one thing-swine flu.  You won't catch anything else, everything is the damn swine flu!!!!

I agree i am having coughing right now because of asthma and people take ten steps back ....This is allergy season and reg flu season and every sniffle is not swine flu !Kids get sick all the time during these months ...people get so freaked and scared and run to the er for no reason .

Maybe it's a secret plan to boost the economy? People have to go to the Dr. and pay copays and buy prescriptions. I agree that I'm sick right now feel like crap and when I cough everyone just looks at you. My  friends son has the flu I don't think I do I just feel like I have a bad cold.
