I'm really struggling with food issues.  I keep proving to myself that my kids are sensitive to foods.  They have several IgG allergies and we went overboard on them over the summer.  I removed them a little over 2 weeks ago.  We are also on Feingold, so have limitations with artificial ingredients.  We decided to have a treat for lunch on Sunday, so had Papa John's pizza.  Much of their stuff is safe for Feingold, but it does have some of the allergy foods.

So, my oldest was very tired this AM (probably from gluten, which he's been off of for 2+ weeks).  He was very sensitive to his brother's shreaks of "I don't want to!"  Luke didn't want to take his supplements, didn't want to drink his milk (that he requested), didn't want to get dressed, didn't want to brush his teeth, didn't want to go to school, etc.  At least I didn't have to drag him out of the van.  I DID have to coax him out though, and a teacher's aid had to walk him to his class.

Why - oh why - do I keep having to prove to myself that they're just not ready for foods that the average kid seems to be able to handle?  Luke's reactions are the same every time.  Only the degree changes.  He has garlic (or some artificial ingredient) and gets silly about 24 hours later.  Not just silly, but that crazed, high-speed, I gotta make them laugh or I'll DIE kind of silly.  That lasts about 8 to 24 hours and he CRASHES and has about 8 to 24 hours of the "yuckies!"  He'll be in a bad mood, clingy, and demanding.  It is very difficult to keep garlic out of the diet.  It is considered a "healthy" food, so is in everything.

Fortunately Ryan's reactions are much less pronounced and last a shorter time.
