If I had to? Yeah right! The only thing stopping me from being a contestant is the fact that I am Canadian. As far as I know, only American residents are allowed to apply.
Since survivor is never in a snowy region I have no fear of the elements. I am accustomed to the temperature changing over 100F during the year; so it could rain for 39 days straight and I would still consider it a tropical holiday!
The challenges might be difficult as I am not a strong runner or swimmer, but unlike so many contestants before me I would actually TRAIN before I went. I am, however, great at puzzles and I have good balance, pain tolerance and fairly good endurance, so I wouldn't feel as though I am going in without any strengths.
The camera's and tv aspect would definitely bother me a lot though. I am rather self conscious and HATE just having my picture taken, so a month on television would be the ultimate humiliation. For many seasons I was convinced that the publicity would definitely prevent me from applying.. but the more exotic the locations get, the more I feel as though the experience of living in the wild, seeing a remote portion of a far away country and pushing myself to my own physical limits would be exhilarating and life-altering enough to out-weight my shyness.
Would I ever be a contestant on Survivor? In a heartbeat!
