For the Parental Rights Amendment
We need your help organizing a nationwide effort that will climax during the week of
Constitution Day, to make sure that the Parental Rights Amendment cannot be ignored by your
Congressmen any longer. During Constitution Week (September 14th through 18th), our goal is
to have an outpouring of calls into Congress, speaking in favor of the Parental Rights
Amendment. In order to make this campaign a success, we will need you to call your
Congressmen during that week. But calling your Senators and Representatives is not
enough. If we are to make this campaign noticeable to the media and discussed in the halls of
Congress, we need you not only to participate in this effort, but to help us organize and spread the
word about it. Here’s what you can do:
• Start with your friends. Make a list of friends who care about family freedoms, and call
them by phone, asking them to participate in this effort. Phone calls are important,
because your friends will hear your voice and will need to give you an answer.
• Pass out copies of this document. Please feel free to print or photocopy this
document and distribute it to as many people as you please!
• Phone Script. Feel free to use or adapt the following script when you call your friends:
“Hi there, my name is ______. I’m calling because I’m supporting the Parental Rights
Amendment, which is a Constitutional amendment that’s being proposed to protect the
traditional freedoms of parents in America. We’re organizing a campaign to call
Congress on the week of Constitution Day (September 14th through 18th), and I just
wanted to ask you to call your Congressman during this time and let him know how
important the liberties of parents are to our country’s freedom. Can I count on you
making a call?” (If so, provide them with the number for the Capitol Hill Switchboard at
202-224-3121, or tell them to visit www.congress.org for Congressional contact info.)
• Learn more. If you have questions about the Parental Rights Amendment or the
Constitution Calls campaign, simply visit www.parentalrights.org or email
[e-mail].
Finally, don’t forget to make the call to your own Congressman’s office! The dates are Monday,
September 14th through Friday, September the 18th. We urge you to make the difference in this
campaign, by ensuring that your Congressman hears our unified voices too strongly to ignore
them!
