obamas speech

I am just curious to see what everyones opinions were on the speech.. were you for it or against it, did you have any children who listened to it and, did anyone read the speech?

I personally had 2 children hear it.. ages 5 and 15, I read the the speech online and I was unsure if it should have been allowed.  Funny part my 5 yr old talked about it more than my 15 yr old..  Please feel free to speak your mind. I DID NOT vote for Obama but I do not dislike "hate" him either.( I just could care less about him). ( I know, how unamerican...but its the truth)

 and as far as politicians being an influence on my children, and being in their schools, ah hell, who knows, Im sure teachers talk politics and about "debatable "issues, whether I like it or not... approve or disapprove.. Im not in the classrooms with them... but oh to be a spider on the wall on occassion

I loved it! and Most importantly I love that he's taking such an interest in education!! and What an inspirational speech!! "No one’s written your destiny for you. Here in America, you write your own destiny. You make your own future. " I think with so many kids in trouble these days, with slacking school expectations and amount of single parents and or poor, letting the children know they have a way out, they have a future as great as they can dream! if only more parents, teachers, friends told kids this! I think it's phenomenal the President is telling children this! And that he's connecting with kids! Helping boost their dreams! The best way to a better future is to raise it right today!

I feel, my opinion, it was less political and more a good pep talk to jump start the school year!
