I got to visit some friends in Lexington this weekend that I hadn't seen in a while. My husband and I took a trip on Labor Day weekend that was well worth it. We went camping at Red River Gorge for our first time, and then we stopped by some friends' houses in Lexington. It was really good to see them and catch up. One couple we stayed with is 7 months pregnant and the other has a 4 month old girl, Eden. She's a cute baby, but huge!
It was great to see them, but I left feeling inadequate about my decorating skills. Each of them had adorable little homes! Angie had a Western themed house with cowboy boots and other Rodeo attire splashed around the nursery. They even had Resistol hats on a hat rack and even the bathroom had a country theme right down to the cat shower curtain. It was so cute! They both are true Kentuckians and love to ride horses. They have all the gear, and her husband has even done some bull riding.
I talked to my husband about it, and he told me I could decorate however I want. The problem is that I feel guilty when I spend money on stuff like that when it could be better used elsewhere. I guess I'll just have to get over my guild conscience. But then I think that I'm just coveting my neighbor's stuff. Ugh! What to do! I'll have to figure it out.
