Robyn's Journal

My job is done if you go eww, OMG or LOL

It is funny that it took so long for me to notice it and Kris to notice it. It mostly started with the name Celeste. The name we have chosen for our little girl. Well last night we were laying in bed throwing around more middle names to go with Celeste when Kris pointed out I say it with a almost silent T as seh-less, which he likes, but his mother pronounces it seh-less-T-uh. I was immediately horrified as that means only one thing. I lived in "Vermont" for way too long for I have picked up that accent (guess it happens if you live some where from age 7 to 22). But I will admit, it does sound better when I say it.

So we have been making his mother call her "peaches" (no cream, this is my little girl we are talking about you pervs).

Any who, now we have  a second name that goes with Celeste like a pea in a pod. How ever now we can't decide which one goes first, Celeste Lillian or Lillian Celeste. I'm thinking we will wait till she is born and decide if she looks more like a Lillian or Celeste. Although I swear, when Kris said Lillian and I parroted back "Celeste Lillian" and our last name it struck me as so perfect it filled me with awe. And I rarely have moments where I am moved as such. lol.

You didn't ask my opinion, but I shall give it anyway.  I LOVE Lillian Celeste.  It just rolls so nicely off the tongue.

After a little more research into meanings, I think we are going to go with the one L in the middle spelling, Lilian, since it means lily. The annoying thing is meaning wise with Celeste, it makes sense with the names going both ways - Heavenly lily or lily of sky.

We try too hard with the names and meanings making sense as well as sounding nice I think. lol.

:) Lilian is beautiful! I think it sounds awesome either way. I also think heavenly lily is great... Very pretty.

Side notes: I also say Celeste with the almost-silent T, or sometimes, when fast, with a silent L, lol (sest).

And, I considered Lilith as a name for my Celeste. :-) Great minds think alike, eh?

LOL you are too funny. I love both names, Lilian and Celeste, I can't wait to hear what you decide on when your little girl is born.

See, now I probably should have just asked you what other names went with Celeste and I could have saved several months of annoying and nagging each other. hehehe

I like it.  My daughter's middle name is Celeste also.  Very pretty and goes well with Lilian either way.

I like both names, regardless of which one is first or last. As for the speech thing, this life-long Mass-hole can relate. I live in California now and have people point out embarrassing things like that in my speech too. I never thought I had an accent since I managed to avoid the typical Bostonian accent we all know and love from movies like Good Will Hunting. When I am excited (or drunk!), the ending consonants on all my words disappear though and I'm often completely unaware of when it happens. My husband says it's endearing. :o)
